The Bookshelf was added in response to client requests for book recommendations. Readers of Brian's Blog will recognize many of the books from quotes included in blog posts. "After implementing our blog feature," explains company spokesman Brian Geary, "our clients wanted to know more about the authors and their works." The affiliation with Amazon.com allows visitors to learn more about the writers by viewing editorial as well as customer reviews.
Unlike traditional bookstores that stock a wide variety of books that appeal to many tastes and topics, the Bookshelf at BrianGeary.com only contains books read and recommended by the BGC staff. Initially stocked with nine books, the Bookshelf will expand as more books are recommended and added. "Since we provide the Bookshelf as a service for our visitors and not as a revenue source," notes Geary, "our visitors can have confidence that only books we recommend are included."
Many of the books will be business oriented, especially from the fields of branding, marketing and economics. Others will address Content Marketing, including meme, copy and hypnotic writing. Visitors are encouraged to submit their own book recommendations for the BGC staff to consider for future reading.
