DOYLESTOWN, PA, May 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) Lucifer Furnaces, Inc. recently built an HL7-A12 box furnace for SunCoast Automation 2000, Inc., which designs and builds automated systems for various industries. One of the Series 7000 line of box furnaces, the HL7 model has heating elements located on both side walls and reaches 2300°F. The heavy gauge, low watt density coiled elements are housed in easy-to-replace holders. The 6"H x 6"W x 12"L chamber is insulated with 2.5" low iron insulating brick as well as 2.5" of mineral wool block for energy efficient operation and low outside shell temperature. A 1" thick hearth plates provides a solid, strong work surface for parts. The double pivot horizontal swing door keeps the hot surface away from the operator at all times and is designed with a safety microswitch to shut power to heating elements when the door is opened. The heavy duty hinge and cam latch insure a positive door seal. An automated Honeywell digital time proportioning temperature controller for precision heat treating is mounted on the side wall of the unit. Series 7000 furnaces are ideal for hardening, preheating, annealing, brazing and normalizing.

Lucifer Furnaces, Inc. has been a leading manufacturer of industrial ovens and industrial furnaces - heat treating equipment for over 65 years. Originating from a small loft on Broad Street in downtown Philadelphia in 1945, with the production of basic box furnaces, the company has grown in size, developing an array of new product lines and expanding to their present location in Warrington, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

All Lucifer Furnaces are constructed using the highest quality materials to deliver superior performance and dependability. Built with economy in mind, the products feature compact design, easy installation, energy efficient operation and easy-to-replace low watt density heating elements for longer life.

Pressure Sensors Constructed for Sub-sea Level Measurement

2011-05-14
Typically an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) is lowered into the ocean with a pressure port either installed inside an enclosure or completely exposed to the sea water. As the ROV is submerged, water pressure is exerted on the diaphragm of a pressure sensor. The deeper the system is submerged, the higher the pressure. By calculating salt water density at 1.025 (or 2.5% more dense than fresh water at 4°C) a correlation between pressure and output signal can be made to measure equipment depth. For example, when a pressure sensor is packaged with a pressure range of 0-5075 ...

New Jersey Bill May Allow Repeat DUI Sentencing for Breathalyzer Refusals

2011-05-14
New Jersey Bill May Allow Repeat DUI Sentencing for Breathalyzer Refusals Early this year the New Jersey Supreme Court issued an opinion that compels lower courts to sentence a driver who refuses to submit to a breathalyzer test as a first offender, even if he or she has previous driving under the influence (DUI) convictions on his or her record. The court based this decision on New Jersey's DUI sentencing statute, which "contains no reference whatsoever to the refusal statute," and because a previous New Jersey case had decided the issue similarly in 1993. ...
