LateRooms.com - See The Charlatans Rock Liverpool

The Charlatans are set to play the O2 Academy in Liverpool following the release of new album Who We Touch.

2010-09-15
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, September 15, 2010 (Press-News.org) Indie rock icons The Charlatans are likely to prompt a surge in bookings for Liverpool hotels ahead of their performance in the city next month.

Having survived both the Madchester and Britpop scenes, the band released their 11th studio album Who We Touch earlier this month and will tour in support of the record throughout October.

They will play the O2 Academy in Liverpool on Monday October 11th, with tickets available for GBP23.50 plus booking fee.

Led by charismatic singer Tim Burgess, The Charlatans released their debut single Indian Rope in 1990 and went on to enjoy hits with tracks such as The Only One I Know, North Country Boy and One To Another.

Who We Touch has been received positively by critics, with Andrzej Lukowski of the BBC describing its songs as "melodic, energetic, humble and hummable".

The reviewer commented: "These are warm, appealing tunes with no false bluster or crass anthemism."

Fans attending the Liverpool concert can expect to hear the band perform several tracks from the new album, as well as older favourites like Tellin' Stories and Love is the Key.

Support for the gig will come from former Happy Mondays frontman and fellow indie veteran Shaun Ryder.
