The New Face of Online Yellow Pages:  Introducing YellowJump

New Online Directory offers Small Businesses Exclusive, Affordable and Effective Online Listings

2011-05-17
OVERLAND PARK, KS, May 17, 2011 (Press-News.org) Introducing YellowJump, a powerful new online yellow pages search directory providing small local businesses with an opportunity to effectively reach customers in an otherwise highly competitive advertising environment.  An alternative to the traditional yellow book, small businesses can register on YellowJump.com to gain exclusivity in their market, beginning today.  As part of the company's launch, local businesses can purchase a lifetime advertisement for $10 per listing.

Kevin Downey, YellowJump's Founder and CEO, previously ran a commercial real estate company where he found existing online yellow pages and directories frustrating given the low position of his company.  This sparked the idea for YellowJump where he created an online strategy that served even the smallest businesses with the opportunity to be part of non-cluttered listings and "top" of the online directory list.

YellowJump's online marketing strategy is an incredible asset for local businesses that don't have an online marketing background or budget.  Yellow Jump uses a powerful search engine optimization program, which includes using a backlink to the company's Web site on the listing to encourage higher search engine rank.  YellowJump also has a heavy stream of online advertising on major search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo.  This will drive traffic to the specific listing on YellowJump that the customer is looking for in their search.

"Many companies are not up to date with the online opportunities to promote their business. In fact, some of these small local businesses do not yet have Web sites," said Kevin Downey, Founder and CEO of YellowJump.com  "YellowJump is able to offer these businesses a significant amount of online exposure that would otherwise be challenging for them to secure.  Plus, we provide an opportunity to be at the top of the list of an online search as well as maintain exclusivity in their category," he added.

How Does it Work?

Once a business purchases a listing on YellowJump, all competition is locked out of that category within the business's market. For example, "Alan's Auto Repair" will be the only business that shows up when searching "Auto Repair" on YellowJump in Reno, NV.  The first business to register on the site pays $10 for life.  The price increases by one penny for each new business that joins.  Once customers sign up, their listing includes a dynamic insertion of the business name and metro area along with the option to add a video. If the client doesn't upload any visuals, the system creates a "card" for them - clients simply have to enter their business information.

YellowJump serves all 366 U.S. metro areas and includes 300+ of the most common online search categories, such as Accountants, Auto Repair, Dentists Plumbers and more.  For more information, visit YellowJump.com, call (877) 377-8071 or email staff@yellowjump.com.

Rules of Thumb to Value a Business

2011-05-17
Quite often at A Neumann & Associates (http://neumannassociates.com), we are asked during presentations which 'multiple' is the right one with which to assess the value of a business. Without doubt, most business owners then volunteer that the EBITDA multiple (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, Amortization) is the best single criteria. However, only relying on earnings can be short sighted. EBITDA, by its definition removes the elements of financing and accounting decisions by adding back interest, depreciation and amortization and thus, can be used to ...
