Computer Screen Cleaner--How to Choose the Best Cleaning Product
2011-05-20
LONDON, ENGLAND, May 20, 2011 (Press-News.org) Most people will choose their computer screen cleaner without giving it much of a thought. They will simply pick up the one that they can grab most easily on the store shelf, or they will get something that they know from a flashy television advertisement. However, if you choose your PC display cleaner like that, the least that might happen is that your screen will not get clean at all. The most that can happen is that you can end up permanently damaging your screen altogether.

To put it simply, you have to choose your computer monitor cleaner with care. Here are some points that you have to keep in mind.

1. Firstly, it may not be a good idea to just use water, which could damage your computing equipment. It would be safer to choose a cleaner from a reputable company, that is designed for the job and does not run or smear like water.

2. You need a computer LCD screen cleaner that will not harm your screen in any way. Stay away from products that are also used as window cleaners. These may cause irreversible damage the screen.

3. Look for a product that will give some measure of lasting protection to your screen. One such example is Brasso Gadgetcare from Reckitt Benckiser. Though slightly more expensive than the rest, this is a wonderful product that provides anti-static protection to your computer screen, which keeps it cleaner for longer. When it is used, it leaves behind a thin film of silicone on the surface. Silicone has ]dust-resistant properties. Hence, your screen stays clean for a longer time. This also helps reduce the smear marks that so often assail devices like iPhones and laptops that are in constant use.

4. Does your cleaner come with a nice cloth to wipe the display surface? This is very important. The cloth should be microfiber, i.e. the fibers used in making the cloth should be very tiny so that they do not cause any harm to the surface. It is also important that the weave of the cloth should be such that it is absolutely safe to touch and use. These are very similar to the cloth often used to clean spectacles.

5. Choose something that has good reviews on the Internet. Most people shop for computer screen cleaners online, and they do not mind placing a review for the product once they have used it. This can give you a good idea about the quality of the product and whether it is worth your money.

Take these things into account when selecting your computer screen cleaner. This is not just any other cleaning product; your computer screen's life depends on it.

FIGO's new classification of causes of abnormal uterine benefits patients

2011-05-20
Philadelphia, PA, May 18, 2011 – Abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) in women of reproductive age may be due to a wide range of disorders or pathologies. Until now, there has been no universally accepted method for classifying such patients, which has impeded basic science and clinical investigation, as well as the practical, rational, and consistent application of medical and surgical therapy. As the result of a stringent 5-year review process, a multinational group of clinician–investigators with broad experience in the investigation of AUB has now agreed on a classification ...

Malaria risk reduced by genetic predisposition for cell suicide

2011-05-20
A human genetic variant associated with an almost 30 percent reduced risk of developing severe malaria has been identified. Scientists from the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM), Hamburg, and Kumasi University, Ghana, reveal that a variant at the FAS locus can prevent an excessive and potentially hazardous immune response in infected children. The study appears in the open-access journal PLoS Genetics on May 19. Severe malaria is a major public health burden in Sub-Saharan Africa, where approximately one million individuals die each year as a result ...

Sniff sniff: Smelling led to smarter mammals, researchers say

2011-05-20
A rose by any other name would smell as sweet; the saying is perhaps a testament to the acute sense of smell that is unique to mammals. Paleontologists have now discovered that an improved sense of smell jumpstarted brain evolution in the ancestral cousins of present-day mammals. The research will appear in the 20 May 2011 issue of the journal Science, which is published by AAAS, the international, nonprofit science society. The findings may help explain why mammals evolved such large and complex brains, which in some cases ballooned 10 times larger than relative body ...
