DENVER, CO, May 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Poppy Sports ( http://www.poppysports.com ) is launching a triathlon coaching series in Boulder, Colorado aimed specifically at the female athlete. The dates for the six-day triathlon camps will be July 14th through 19th 2011. Join ironman and coach Teresa Rider to fine tune Olympic, half Ironman and Ironman training with the woman athlete in mind.
Poppy Sports is an online retailer of high-end performance apparel for women triathletes, cyclists and runners. Based in Colorado they have partnered with Teresa Rider, age group World Champion Ironman winner, to launch Poppy Sports Tri Camps under Teresa's expert tutelage.
Tri Camp Focus
Poppy Sports triathlon training is unique in their offering to women athletes. They offer the chance for triathletes to kick off their summer race season and provide focus to those who are training for a specific goal and/or planning to move up a race distance to half Ironman (70.3) or Ironman. They provide female athletes the one-off opportunity to learn from Teresa's experience and athletic training on how to increase training levels, manage nutrition and balance life with training and importantly, recovery.
The six-day camps, exclusively for women, are all-inclusive (food, accommodation, training, and even bike supplies) and are purposefully limited to eight women for each camp. The small number enables triathlon training to be tailored to individual goals - be it moving up a distance or going long for the half Ironman and full Ironman distances.
The triathlon camps not only include physical conditioning and techniques, but also nutritional advice and a triathlon training schedule for the remainder of the season.
Rider's experience and results in Ironman level distances brings a level of expertise unparalleled in women's tri camps. With her results she comments, 'It is my hope that I can demonstrate to other women that athletic goals are achievable and with careful training and preparation, age is not a barrier to success.'
Head Coach - Teresa Rider
Born in the UK, Rider lived in Australia for many years where she started competing in Ironman distance triathlons. Since 2007 she has been based in Boulder, Colorado. In 2010 she won her age group in Ironman Canada and took second place (50-54 age group) in the Hawaii Ironman World Championships on October 2010, with a finishing time of 10:51:24. Teresa will be recognized in the 2011 Sportswomen of Colorado awards for her achievements in triathlon.
