BERKSHIRE, ENGLAND, May 26, 2011 (Press-News.org) Internet startup gloopit.co.uk gives environmentally conscious consumers the opportunity to raise money for environmental causes every time they shop online at any of the hundreds of participating high street retailers, without adding any cost to their shopping.
The website, launching on the 27th May, is the brain child of current and former university students Roy Green and Eduardo Santos from Reading. "We began developing the idea in October 2010 after noticing that no similar service existed, aimed at aiding the environment" says Eduardo Santos.
"The whole process is extremely simple" says Roy Green. "Visit gloopit.co.uk and choose a charity to support from a selection of over 1000 environmental and animal welfare charities. You then find a retailer and Gloop it! provides you with a personal link to the retailer's website. The retailer pays Gloop it! an advertising fee, the majority of which Gloop it! uses to support your chosen charity."
The founders hope to offset over 1000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions per month through carbon offset charities by this time next year. They express high hopes for December 2011 where online consumer spending will more than double as Christmas approaches.

But a recently launched ad campaign clearly targets pre-teen, elementary school-aged children ... specifically girls, since there is no comparable shoe for boys.
