AIV Inc recognized as "Vendor of the Year"

South Florida Association for Medical Instrumentation (SFAMI) presents medical device manufacturer with its annual vendor award.

2011-06-03
MARMANS, MD, June 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) AIV Inc, a manufacturer of medical devices and replacement parts, received the 2010 "Vendor of the Year" award from Florida Biomedical Society's (FBS) Southern Chapter, (SFAMI).

The SFAMI organization was established in the 1970s to assist its members in the growth of their biomedical programs. SFAMI supports all those working to improve medical equipment and the professionals who service and support it. The organization strives to promote better communication between these programs and manufacturers. AIV, as one of these manufacturers, supports SFAMI and other similar organizations in accomplishing these goals and supporting the biomedical community as a whole.

The award was established in 2008 in order to recognize the efforts of the vendors who extend this level of support. The SFAMI board and its members go through a formal process each year to select a single vendor to honor for its contributions.

"This award is extended to the vendor providing the best benefits to the SFAMI organization. The recipient is chosen not only for its financial commitment to our organization but also its time contribution and support of our organization, the biomedical industry and the greater community," says Fred McMurtrie, 2011 SFAMI Chair and Biomedical Engineering Department Supervisor at Broward Health.

AIV participates in the SFAMI and FBS organizations as an active association member as well as an exhibitor at their annual meeting and trade show. This past year, AIV partnered with South Florida hospitals in a unique way by providing pulse oximetry accessories to accompany monitors being sent for medical relief efforts after the devasting earthquake in Haiti. AIV provides ongoing support for SFAMI and other regional biomedical associations to encourage the growth and success of these organizations. To learn more about SFAMI, please visit http://www.sfami.org or contact Fred McMurtrie at 954-355-5955 or f2mcmurtrie@browardhealth.org.
