Generational Expert Kim Huggins Speaks at 2011 Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Women's Conference

HARLEYSVILLE, PA, June 04, 2011 (Press-News.org) Kim Huggins, generational expert and president of K HR Solutions in Harleysville, Pa., presented "Communicating Across Generations" to more than 125 financial professionals at the 2011 Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Women's Conference in Malvern, Pa.

Huggins, who spoke at PICPA's 2008 Women's Conference, educated the audience about how to better understand the various communication styles and preferences of each generation in the workforce. An expert in generational issues and human resources and author of GENerate Performance! Unleashing the Power of a Multigenerational Workforce, she discussed generational leadership and explored how businesses can identify and leverage the strengths of each generation. Huggins also addressed what businesses can do now to prepare for the demographic shifts.

"While there are many differences between generations in the workplace, there are just as many, if not more, similarities in relation to communication style and preferences," said Huggins. "Some of these commonalities include the need for face-to-face communication and receiving recognition. It is imperative that businesses focus on the strengths of each generation and learn how to leverage these synergies as a means of positively impacting employee engagement, productivity and retention. "
