Montgomery Mall to Host Free Youth Skateboarding & Live Music Event on June 24

2011 Zumiez Couch Tour Brings Pro Skateboarders, Skateboarding Contests & Free Live Entertainment to Montgomery Mall this Summer

NORTH WALES, PA, June 09, 2011 (Press-News.org) On Friday, June 24, 2011, the Montgomery Mall will host the 11th Annual Zumiez Couch Tour from noon to 6 p.m. The event will feature a pro skateboard demo by the SUPRA Team, a skateboarding contest for local residents and free live band entertainment from I See Stars and Philadelphia-area band Valencia.

The Zumiez Couch Tour event will kick off with the 5th Annual Zumiez Best Foot Forward Am Skate Contest Series, a jam format skate contest that is "a matter of life and limb" for up-and-coming local resident skaters, presented by BONES WHEELS. During the contest, the first 20 pre-registered skaters will battle it out to see who will advance to an all-expense-paid trip to the Zumiez Couch Tour's final stop in Bloomington, MN, and to compete in the Best Foot Forward Finals on July 1, 2011. Local skaters can pre-register for the contest online at http://www.zumiezbestfootforward.com.

The event will also feature Philadelphia's alternative rock/punk band, Valencia, who will play for fans from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., followed by I See Stars, an American rock band formed in 2006 from Warren, Mich.

Admission to the skateboarding and concert event is free and includes prizes and giveaways from tour partners: BNQT, Contour, Keep A Breast, New Era, Skullcandy and TransWorld SKATEboarding. In addition, the event may also feature skate team autograph signings, an interactive festival area, music, giveaways and fun!
