Atlanta Shredding Company Shred-Green CEO Speaks at Atlanta Area Rotary Club

Everett Perkins, president and CEO of Atlanta Shredding company Shred-Green, advises Atlanta business owners on how to protect their businesses from identity theft.

2011-06-15
ATLANTA, GA, June 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Everett Perkins, president and CEO of Atlanta shredding company Shred-Green, met with an Atlanta area Rotary club last Thursday to speak on the subject of identity theft. Perkins informed the Rotary club members of the risks of identity theft and offered practical advice on how to protect their businesses from this and other forms of fraud.

Identity theft is commonly thought of as a crime that primarily targets individual victims, but businesses may be targeted as well. For this reason, it is essential that businesses make a point of protecting their own company information as well as client information. Perkins recommended that business owners evaluate what personal information the company is holding and only keep what is necessary. To keep information secure, Perkins advised that businesses protect laptops and access to company computers, keep important company information locked away, and shred any unneeded information.

Kathy Perkins, co-owner of Shred-Green, was pleased that the Atlanta document shredding company was able to provide this information to the Rotary club. "Identity theft is a concern that every individual and organization should be aware of. We are always happy to educate and help others protect themselves against the threat of fraud."

The speaking engagement with the Rotary club was not the first event of its kind offered by the Atlanta shredding company. Shred-Green is a community oriented company, and has offered many informative sessions on identity theft throughout metro Atlanta, as well as regular free Atlanta paper shredding events.

If your organization would like to schedule an Atlanta shredding event or presentation on identity theft, please contact Shred-Green at (678) 514-2501 or visit online at www.shred-green.com.
