Star Partner Wins the iGSOP 2011

Star Partner representative wins the top prize at the iGSOP 2011.

2011-06-15
TA XBIEX, MALTA, June 15, 2011 (Press-News.org) Star Partner, the leading Affiliate Programme for online casinos attended the Dublin iGaming Super Show. Star Partner represents 12 of the world's top Casino Brands, including 2 Poker Rooms. The iGaming Conference was held in Dublin, Ireland on the 25th and 26th of May, 2011. Approximately 2,500 Affiliates, Gaming Operator C.E.O.s and Operator Representatives were in attendance at this prestigious event.

The show was well organised and a great success business wise but to top it off Amit Cohen, the Chief Operating Officer at Star Partner, represented Star Partner at the The iGSOP (iGaming Series of Poker) 2011. Cohen, an avid Poker player, won the tournament and walked away with the $6,000 grand prize and a gold and diamond bracelet valued at $5,000.

We asked Cohen about the moments that led up to his win and he gave us a run-down of the winning hand!

"I was dealt J-Q of Spades on the Small Blind. Blinds were sitting at $7k / $15k.

"Flop: A, J, 10" - My opponent was first to talk and immediately went all in. I figured if he had a strong Ace he would have gone all in Pre-Flop and if he had 2 Pairs or a Straight he would have slow played the hand. Since I had twice the stack I had to call.

"After I made the call he turned over K-9 Off-Suit, which I felt really comfortable with.

"Turn: K

"River: 3

"I had the top Straight and took the tournament down.

"The iGSOP was a well-run and exciting tournament filled with loads of cool characters and "Crazy Poker". I look forward to the next challenging tournament, so that I can once again represent Star Partner and let our team stand proud. Thank you to the hosts and sponsors it really was a good one!"

Cohen attributes a sharp and savvy approach to the success of the Star Partner Affiliate Programme and says that this is what makes their Affiliate Programme as remarkable as it is.

President Signs the Fair Sentencing Act to Reduce Inconsistency in Crack Cocaine Sentences

2011-06-15
The long-time debate about federal crack cocaine sentences came to a halt this year when the President signed The Fair Sentencing Act that reduces the inconsistency in crack cocaine sentences. The distinction between crack and cocaine sentencing has been blasted by critics. Historically, 5 grams of crack triggers a mandatory sentence of five years, while it takes 500 grams of cocaine to trigger the same sentence. Under The Fair Sentencing Act, the threshold is raised to 28 grams of crack for a mandatory five year sentence. The amount of cocaine remains the same. Supporters ...

New Forms of Cell Phone Surveillance Should Have Citizens Questioning Their Privacy

2011-06-15
Within the past few years, police and FBI have been gathering data from telephone companies that revealed the locations of customers' cell phones - either in real-time or after the fact. The prosecutors said they needed the data to track drug traffickers and even corrupt officials, but some federal magistrates were troubled by the requests and refused to sign off on the orders. Many cell phone owners aren't even aware that their locations can be traced in real time by their cell phone provider. Cell phones have little GPS units inside them or each call is routed through ...

Do Caesarean Sections Cause Birth Injuries?

2011-06-15
For many people, there is a widely held belief that Caesarean-section (C-section) surgeries to deliver babies can be harmful to the infant, often causing birth injuries. Some women prefer to deliver a child vaginally, but are unable to do so because of unexpected complications, existing health problems or because the mother is past the projected due date. A recent study by Dr. Christopher Glantz, a professor of obstetrics at The University of Rochester in New York reveals that c-sections may not be as dangerous to the child as many think. In a comprehensive study covering ...

An Overview of Florida Sinkholes: Types and Causes

2011-06-15
Florida has more sinkholes than any other region in the U.S. Sinkholes are caused when the ground beneath the surface is made of certain types of rock, such as limestone, that can be dissolved by water. When water circulates through these rocks under the ground, dissolving them, and washes away the soil, a cavity or space can develop under the ground. With the earth above no longer supported, the surface dissolves into the space, causing a sinkhole. The size and shape of a sinkhole and how quickly it develops depend on the size of the underground void that develops and ...
