Local Community College and Professional Services Firm Collaborate to Win National Award

Radcom, Inc. and Cuyahoga Community College win gold at the Hermes Creative Awards for e-learning course.

HUDSON, OH, June 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) and Radcom, Inc. are gold winners for the 2011 Hermes Creative Awards. This is an international awards competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the industry while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals.

The winning project from Radcom and Tri-C was for the online learning course, "What's the Difference: Blogs, Wikis, and Journals" which helps faculty learn the basics of these essential online social networking tools. The project won gold in the Web Based Training category. Working in collaboration, Radcom's Sharon Jendrisak and Tri-C's Danielle Budzick created the instructional design, wrote the script, and developed the course. The project manager for Radcom was Jennifer Beaujon and Sandy Moses for Tri-C. "This is Radcom's second Hermes gold winning project," said Beaujon. "I'm very proud of the work that Sharon and Danielle did together to create a very useful and needed online course."

There were 4400 entries from throughout the US and several other countries in the 2011 competition. Entries came from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.

Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (www.amcpros.com). The international organization consists of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public relations, media production and freelance professionals. AMCP oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the profession.

AMCP judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. Winners were selected from 151 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts—advertising, publications, marketing/branding, integrated marketing, public relations/ communications, electronic media and pro bono.
