OXFORDSHIRE, ENGLAND, June 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) Adabas customers will soon have easy access to Grid-Tools' award winning data masking solution, they will have the ability to de-identify data being used in non-production environments as a result of Software AG's partnership with data masking vendor, Grid-Tools. The two companies are working together to embed Grid-Tools product Simple Datamasking , a popular data masking solution, into all Adabas products, making it easy for Adabas users to ensure the data being used in test and development environments remains anonymous and secure.
Data masking, the process of anonymizing data so it can be used securely in non-production environments, ensures data within a database is secured throughout its full life-cycle from development and testing through to production. The technology maintains the full integrity of the original environment, making it easy to successfully create and manage high quality "production-like" data. As the demand for this type of solution grows significantly, Software AG has realized the benefit it could provide to its customers.
Wolfgang Weiss, Senior Product Manager at Software AG comments: "Corporate data is an absolutely crucial business asset. Without access to information in their corporate databases, most companies would be unable to conduct day-to-day business. Software AG realizes the pressure being put on our customers to maintain high standards in compliance, which includes ensuring sensitive data remains secure in non-production environments".
"Finding a way to help our customers maintain compliance by partnering with a leading data masking vendor became an important focus for us. We went through a rigorous selection process and felt the Grid-Tools technology outshone the competition. They offered solutions which were more robust, flexible and powerful. We are confident our customers will benefit from this partnership considerably."
Huw Price, Grid-Tools' Managing Director, is also enthusiastic about the new relationship: "Grid-Tools has a strong focus on limitless access to all databases and data types. We want to offer our customers a solution that not only has the most innovative technology, but isn't limited to specific databases. Our relationship with Software AG will enable Adabas customers to easily access a fantastic data masking product, but it also demonstrates Grid-Tools' continued strategy to increase the number of platforms we support in this space. Partnering with an industry leader like Software AG, who leads the field technically when it comes to mainframe and open systems, shows our intent to keep growing technically."
As the partnership between the two organizations grows, plans to embed further test data management features into the Adabas product will follow, including test data creation and generation, database subsetting and data coverage capabilities. As the leading vendor in test data management technology internationally, Grid-Tools will enable Software AG to provide the most innovative solutions in this space to its customers.
