READING, MA, August 17, 2010 (Press-News.org) For understaffed companies that submit SBIR and STTR proposals under stringent deadlines and with stiff competition, JHEverson Consulting, provides a timely and competitive advantage with proposal research and commercialization planning. Unlike consultants that focus on either technology or business, JHEverson Consulting has both broad technical expertise and demonstrated business-development results. To find out more about JHEverson Consulting's services, please visit http://www.jheversonconsulting.com/.

Prior to forming this consultancy, Dr. Jeffrey Everson was director of business development for QinetiQ North America's Technology Solutions Group (previously Foster-Miller, Inc.) in Waltham, MA. By identifying and cultivating a major North American gas producer in Houston, he won contracts for technology development related to the deliquification of gas wells. Dr. Everson planned for product manufacture, distribution, sales, and installation. This work in progress is leading to multimillion-dollar markets for improved gas production.

At QinetiQ North America, Dr. Everson conducted detailed technology and market studies on coal gasification, President Obama's energy plan, electric grid and wind energy integration, and Stirling engines. He worked with a venture capital source regarding robotic platforms for inspecting natural gas pipelines to support a federal government inspection mandate. Dr. Everson reviewed technologies to improve downhole steam generation for bitumen production in Canadian tar sands with the University of Alberta, the University of Calgary, and the Alberta Research Institute. He performed technology and market research to preserve electric grid stability using overhead power line sensors. He wrote a white paper for a major utility company about preventing explosions in underground steam pipes using long-wave ultrasonic inspection. As an exploratory marketing venture, he visited ethanol plants in South Dakota to review operations.

As a senior engineer at Foster-Miller, Inc., Dr. Everson won and was the principal investigator for several SBIR programs. These projects included a Phase I program for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and a Phase I project for the U.S. Air Force to design and computer model micro-electrical-mechanical systems (MEMS) sensors for gas turbine engines. Cornell University and Northeastern University were subcontractors on these programs. He was the PI for Phase I and II contracts from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DoT) for the development and evaluation of a collision warning system for inner-city transit buses, and he received a Tibbetts Award for this Phase II program. Dr. Everson was the PI for Phase I and II SBIR programs to design and laboratory test a friction sensor for vehicular collision warning systems for the DoT as well.

Previously Dr. Everson held senior scientist positions at Battelle Memorial Institute, The Analytic Sciences Corporation (TASC), Honeywell's Electro Optics Systems Division, and Itek's Optical Systems Division.

He holds a PhD in physics from Boston College and a MS/BS in physics from Northeastern University. His PhD thesis concerned prenucleation effects of metallurgical phase transitions measured by Moessbauer spectroscopy in iron-nickel alloys.

"Jeff and I worked together for a number of years at Foster-Miller, Inc., and I found him to be a hard worker who would dig deeply into understanding a market and a customer's needs in developing a program and proposal opportunity," said Dr. James Dill, vice president, Foster-Miller, Inc. (now a division of QinetiQ North America). "He is skillful in putting together engineering information into a strong coherent proposal, which has a high probability of winning in a competitive environment."

"Jeff is an innovative researcher, able to collect and analyze market information coherently. He is able to open new markets effectively," said Leslie Gray, director, Morgan Group LLC. "He is also a joy to work with, having a superb sense of humor, and a balanced attitude about life."

"I've worked with Jeff for nearly 10 years," said Dr. Tony Aponick, vice president, Foster-Miller Inc. (now a division of QinetiQ North America). "He's a very accomplished technical executive who pays careful attention to both the engineering and the business details of the enterprises in his charge. He's completely undaunted by enormous challenges. I recommend him highly, especially to small business needing experienced and technically astute help."
