RALEIGH, NC, June 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Community Workforce Solutions, Inc. (CWS), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment, announced today the launch of their online store for the purchase of handmade greeting cards. The cards are the product of the Artful Pathways program and support the creative talent of individuals with developmental disabilities. Initiated in 2010, Artful Pathways is a voluntary program for participants of CWS that not only provides an outlet for their artistic abilities but also teaches them valuable vocational skills while building self-esteem and confidence.
"The Artful Pathways program has been a wonderful opportunity for the individuals we support to utilize their skills and talent," said Kim Hicks, manager of the program. "It has allowed us to tap into their creativity to help express themselves in a fun and meaningful way. Participants are eager to work on the greeting card projects and take pride in learning the process that results in high quality, unique creations."
A variety of greeting cards are currently available in the online store, with new designs being added frequently. Custom designs or bulk orders can be arranged by calling Kim Hicks at 919-231-3325 or by email at shop@communityworkforcesolutions.com. In addition to the festive greeting cards, new items are in development and will be available online in the coming weeks. All proceeds go to the continued support of the program and the individuals it serves.
