MUNICH, GERMANY, June 25, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Tollwood Summer Festival brings some of the world's biggest names in music and theatre to Munich every year.
Running for 26 days until Sunday July 17th at the city's Olympic Park, the event features a diverse range of performances designed to suit visitors of all ages, with more than 70 per cent of the shows being free to enjoy.
Among the famous acts on the bill at this year's festival are Limp Bizkit, the American rock band whose previous hits include My Generation, Take A Look Around and Break Stuff.
Having been at loggerheads for years, lead singer Fred Durst and guitarist Wes Borland buried the hatchet to record new album Gold Cobra.
Fans can expect to hear tracks from the LP at the Munich concert, which is due to take place at the Gerhlicher Musik-Arena on Tuesday June 28th. The gig is scheduled to start at 19:00 local time and tickets are priced at EUR47.63 (GBP42.38).
Legendary blues performer BB King will take the stage at the same venue on Tuesday July 5th, offering festival-goers a chance to see why Rolling Stone magazine named him as the third greatest guitarist of all time.
Tickets for the show, which starts at 19:30, cost EUR58.50.
Canadian rocker and Summer of 69 singer Bryan Adams is set to perform on the final night, although passes for this concert have already sold out.
Away from the music, three circus ensembles - including Italy's Paolo Nani - will be on hand to provide plenty of laughter, while the Amphitheatre will play host to acrobatics, fashion shows, cookery displays and even hairdressing.
Artists set to appear at the venue include Cirque Hirsute from France and Spain's Osadia and Mumusic Circus.
Festival-goers will find LateRooms.com recommends a vast selection of Munich hotels, such as the Hotel Leonardo Munich.
