KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, July 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC) in Malaysia is hosting an exhibition of Bhanu Achan's work entitled Variation 40.
Running from July 4th to 17th, the show is presented by the World Hepatitis Committee and can be found in the Pentas 2 Foyer area.
Achan was born in the Malaysian capital and left for India to study medicine, but he eventually returned to his homeland as an artist.
According to the organisers, paintings from his early years were very spiritual, but this didactic element has been relaxed, giving way to a compelling and beautiful style.
In a statement, they said: "Achan's works manifest a struggle to find meaning beyond form and content.
"In the four decades of his work, that struggle is seen in some wonderful creations of art that are pleasing, challenging and sometimes even controversial."
The Malaysian artist has three pieces in the country's prestigious National Art Gallery.
As well as its platforms for showcasing artwork, KLPAC boasts a training academy, theatre spaces, a film-making studio and dining options.
The venue is located at Sentul Park in the centre of Kuala Lumpur.
Art enthusiasts can find a wide range of Malaysia hotels on AsiaRooms.com, including the First World Hotel.
Find out more about the exhibition by visiting http://www.klpac.org/.
