Yara creates a global view of talent with StepStone Solutions

Yara extends its partnership with StepStone Solutions

LONDON, ENGLAND, September 18, 2010

Yara, the world's largest supplier of mineral fertilizers, has chosen to extend its partnership with StepStone Solutions, a leading global provider of total talent management solutions, by implementing StepStone Solutions Talent Management.

The new platform that StepStone Solutions is implementing will replace an in-house system and give Yara a global view on talent information. Yara International ASA is a global firm specializing in agricultural products and environmental protection agents. The Oslo-based company has more than 7,600 employees and annual revenues of nearly NOK 60 billion with operations in more than 50 countries.

As Bassim Haj, Senior Vice President at Yara, explains, the benefits of the system will include deeper analysis and reporting functionalities, resulting in a more efficient use of HR resources and a better insight in the available talent- and skills within the company worldwide: "This solution will offer us a global overview of our human capital. It will be much easier to report either locally or globally, with the necessary insights to allocate our human resources across the company."

"We are pleased to extend our relationship with Yara, which is a strong endorsement for the quality of our solution," said Matthew Parker, CEO of StepStone Solutions. "It is very important to nurture talent within any organization, and the talent visibility our talent management solution offers will help Yara to bring out the best in its employees globally. It also helps employees to develop their careers by making new internal opportunities more visible."

"Vacancies requiring special skills can be filled much quicker when we can search through our own talent pool," points out Yara's Bassim Haj. "In our area of specialized expertise, educating employees ourselves is very important. With this talent management solution we can see if we expect skill shortages on specific areas in the future. By having insight in this information we can proactively educate our employees and be ready for the future."
