AURORA, IL, July 03, 2011 (Press-News.org) The Label Printers was invited to participate as a Panelist at the recent San Diego IP Crime Training Events/UL Brand Protection Summit, hosted by UL. The IP Crime Training Events included the Brand Protection Summit which was held back-to-back with a Regional Law Enforcement IP Crime Workshop that UL hosted in partnership with the National IPR Coordination Center. Brian Monks, UL's Vice President Anti-Counterfeiting Operations, said about the Events in Registration/Welcome materials, "UL is well aware of the detrimental effects IP Crime has on a company's resources, reputation and to its corporate goals and is organizing these two events to serve as a catalyst to strengthen and enhance brand protection programs, provide best practices for combating IP Crime and to strengthen global partnerships against this growing threat."
Summit participants included brand owners such as Apple, Pfizer, Walgreens, Wahl, and HP; solution providers such as The Label Printers; government agencies such as U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Attorney's Economic Crimes Section, and ICE Homeland Security Investigations; law enforcement agencies such as INTERPOL, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and the FBI; and many other intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting experts. The back-to-back Training Events were presented and attended by individuals representing the law enforcement community, IP and brand owners, anti-counterfeiting solution suppliers, and others interested in combating the global menace of counterfeiting and piracy.
The Label Printers' Chief Executive, William J. Kane, was a participant in the "Utilizing 21st Century Service Providers to Strengthen Brand Protection" Panel. Said Kane, "The Summit had some valuable insights into the complexity of the legal system in trying to bring the Bad Guys to justice. We were made aware of active and closed cases that take time, money, and resources to complete. This conference was extremely informative for all of the attendees. I'm looking forward to this becoming an annual event."
