Brandon October: 'My Third Album Will Be Influenced By 80'S Rock'

Brandon October has said that his self-titled new album, the follow-up to 2008's 'Opsoek na Liefde', will be influenced by '80s rock'.

2011-07-07
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA, July 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) The singer said that on some of the tracks he wanted to capture the vibe of that decade. 'Some of my influences are bands like Journey, Chicago and Jefferson Starship and I wanted to introduce some of that influence into my new album' , he added.

He said: 'For the next album, I've been changing it up a bit, taken my lyric writing in a different direction, but as far as a sound, I just know it's gonna be balls-out, balls to the wall, irreverent rock. It's also about evolving and never becoming stale.' It's very easy for a musician to become predictable. I don't want that. Predictable is boring!'

The singer continued: 'I've been pretty much in this '80s rock and roll kick and I want to capture some of the true essence of what rock is; the irreverence and sexiness, but most of all, screaming electric guitars.'

Brandon October's album will be released in September 2011.
