Elitch Gardens Partners with recycOil to Educate the Next Generation on Renewable Biodiesel Fuel

recycOil team members educate students about the importance of renewable fuels for creating a low carbon future

2011-07-07
BOULDER, CO, July 07, 2011 (Press-News.org) Colorado's own recycOil (http://www.recycoil.com) used cooking oil recycling service and Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park have teamed up once again to recycle Elitch's used cooking oil for the 2011 summer season. After the oil has been used to make Fresh Cut Fries, Funnel Cakes, and other delicious goodies, recycOil collects and processes it at their feedstock plant in Berthoud, CO.

recycOil partners up with local Colorado restaurant and commercial food facilities focused on sustainability to recycle their used cooking oil which will then be converted into biodiesel energy and help keep Colorado green.

"We are proud to be fueling a low carbon future through our used cooking-oil recycling programs and sustainable biodiesel solutions," said recycOil spokesperson Zane Kessler. "It is truly an honor to participate in programs such as Elitch Gardens Outdoor Classroom Days educating the next generation on the importance of renewable fuels and environmental sustainability."

During the recent Elitch Gardens Outdoor Classroom Days event on May 27, 2011, recycOil team members Adam Hall and Jason Barton visited the amusement park to talk with students about how Elitch converts its waste into renewable fuel. It's tough to compete with roller coasters and waterslides, but luckily, Colorado kids are smart! Students from Denver Public and Jefferson County schools were excited to learn that well known places like Elitch Gardens, Invesco Field at Mile High, the Colorado Convention Center and the Denver Zoo are thinking about kids' futures, and are helping to fuel a low carbon future with recycOil.

recycOil has been recycling used cooking oil in the Rocky Mountain region since 2005 - and has been supplying commercial biodiesel producers and other agricultural and industrial end-users with high quality feedstock for almost six years. Now, in partnership with best-in-class biodiesel producers and fuel distributors, recycOil is providing high-quality, cost- competitive biodiesel fuel to the Colorado market. This fuel is manufactured from used cooking oil and other recycled feedstocks under the strictest quality production protocols—achieving the highest environmental performance available in today's commercial marketplace and delivering high-performance fuel at cost effective price points. All of this is done while also adhering 100% to applicable local, state and federal rules and regulations, including the federal Renewable Fuel Standard.

"The word is out. We're providing some of the most cost-competitive and highest quality biodiesel in the West," continued Zane Kessler. "We work hard to create solutions that balance regional food production, agriculture and energy needs. All of this in a global, sustainable development framework."

Hundreds of restaurants and commercial facilities throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region are working with recycOil to drive innovation in the Clean Technology industry - helping to strengthen our local economies while reducing our dependence on foreign oil, improving air quality and deploying commercially viable alternatives. This is how the recycOil network is helping fuel a low carbon future.
