Sims Recycling Solutions Receives Responsible Recycling (R2) Certification at Six More Facilities

Sims Now Holds More R2 Certifications Than Any Other Electronics Recycler In North America

ROSEVILLE, CA, July 08, 2011 (Press-News.org) Sims Recycling Solutions, the world's largest electronics recycler has successfully achieved Responsible Recycling Practices for Electronics Recyclers (R2) certification at its facility in Columbia, SC; Sacramento, CA; San Francisco, CA; Franklin Park, IL and two facilities in Tampa, FL. This new standard supported by major electronic OEM's, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), public interest groups, the US EPA, and U.S. state and local governments, is a stringent set of requirements for electronics recyclers. The standard includes requirements for environmental, worker health and safety, and security practices.

Other than the two recently opened facilities in Mississauga, ON and Edison, NJ; all sites in North America now hold the R2 Certification. These new facilities are targeted to be certified in the next six months.

Sims Recycling Solutions has received certifications for ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007. Sims continues to offer valuable electronics recycling services by investing in green technology and creating green jobs, while conserving both energy and valuable raw materials.
