BOLTON, ENGLAND, July 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) North West-based charities Marie Curie, Boot Out Breast Cancer, Ear 4 Kidz, Royal Manchester Children's Hospital Charity, The Christie Charity and Bolton Hospice are celebrating today thanks to generous donations from health cash plan provider UK Healthcare.
Beneficiaries came together at a presentation lunch held on Wednesday 6th July 2011 at The Whites Hotel to receive a donation and share their story of what the donation means to them, how it will be used and how the wider community will benefit.
The largest donations of GBP5,000 each went to Marie Curie and Boot Out Breast Cancer. Jemma Halman, Area Fundraising Manager for Marie Curie announced that the money will be used to fund a specialist nurse in the Bolton area; providing care to terminally ill people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Deborah Dowie, Chairman of Boot Out Breast Cancer shared how the charity would use the money to help fund the latest diagnostic equipment for the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Ear 4 Kidz, Manchester Royal Children's Hospital Charity, The Christie Charity and Bolton Hospice received a donation of GBP2,000 each.
Trevor Nicholls, Chief Executive at UK Healthcare said, "It gives us great pleasure to see our donations used for such a worthy causes. Our charitable council was established to help organisations such as these to serve the wider community. We hope that with our support many people will benefit from the services these charities provide to the community for a long time to come."
