COACHELLA, CA, July 10, 2011 (Press-News.org) Two top-notch comedians and an exciting show filled with disco classics have been added to the Spotlight 29 Casino entertainment calendar for 2011.
On Saturday, October 15, the Spotlight Showroom will feature Disco Divas, with Gloria Gaynor, Thelma Houston, Anita Ward, and Evelyn Champagne King. Tickets are $25, $35 and $45. Gaynor has had numerous #1 hits including "I Will Survive" and "Never Can Say Good-Bye". Houston scored a #1 hit with "Don't Leave Me This Way", which won the 1978 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Ward sang the chart topper "Ring My Bell". King had several gold records including the top 10 hit "Shame".
Actor/Comedian Bill Engvall brings his blue-collar comedy show to Spotlight 29 on Saturday, November 26. Tickets are $55, $65 and $75. Engvall has starred in a number of movies, has two solo specials which aired on Comedy Central, "15° Off Cool" and "Here's Your Sign, Live," "Here's Your Sign" has been certified platinum and held the #1 position on the Billboard Comedy Chart for 15 straight weeks. He hosts one of the top rated shows on CMT, Country Fried Home Videos and he stars in and is the executive producer of "The Bill Engvall Show" on TBS.
On Saturday, December 17, Emmy-award winning actor/comedian Dana Carvey will perform. Tickets are $65, $75, $85. Carvey, who was on Saturday Night Live for seven years, is best known for his characters and dead-on impressions such as the Church Lady, Garth (from Wayne's World), President George Bush, Johnny Carson, Ross Perot and more. Carvey won his Emmy in 1993 for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety or Music Program (on SNL), and has received a total of six Emmy nominations. Also, he was honored with the American Comedy Award as Television's Funniest Supporting Male in 1990 and 1991.
