BERLIN, GERMANY, July 12, 2011 (Press-News.org) Casa de Madrid is located on the 4th floor of a 18th-century building in the middle of the old town called Madrid de los Austrias, built during the Habsburg dynasty in the 16th century. From the many balconies of the luxurious guesthouse, the guests have perfect views of the Royal Palace and the Opera. "It's very interesting to my guests because they adore to be right in the centre." owner Marta explains.
Each of the seven rooms is individually styled: "The decoration of each room is very different yet on the whole, when you walk the house, you can feel the harmony. It is like the same person with a different sense of humour. It's my personality, from one day to another, and that's carried over in the rooms." describes Marta, who is an interior architect and an art historian. She spends a lot of her time traveling around the world, source of inspiration for some of the rooms. For the past twenty years, for example, she has been travelling to India which inspired her to create the Indian Room. "I just looked at a room and thought of what to do with it. The ideas came from the inside not the outside, the space was telling me what to do with it."
Casa de Madrid is more of a boutique luxury guest house rather than a traditional hotel - it is the right spot for everyone enjoying a welcoming and personal atmosphere. "I made it special to the people who visit. It's the very warm atmosphere of a private house, you feel well and alive here. It's very simple, there's nothing luxurious. It is an old way of living and you feel the taste of other times. The luxury is the beauty."
