Txtlocal clients raise over GBP1000 for Marie Curie

CHESTER, ENGLAND, July 14, 2011 (Press-News.org) As part of their dedication to charity services, mobile marketing and communications company Txtlocal managed to raised over GBP1000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care using the power of multi-media text messaging.

Txtlocal have been in partnership with Marie Curie since the beginning of the year, and so wanted to support their annual 'Blooming Great Tea Party' where people hold tea parties in aid of the charity. All money raised from tea parties helps Marie Curie Nurses to provide more free care to patients with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes or one of the charity's hospices.

Txtlocal wanted to raise a significant amount for this worthy cause through their very own award winning messaging platform. They sent an email inviting their clients to join in their 'Tea Party' event last week, by sending in MMS pictures of themselves, having a cup of tea, or holding up a meaningful message. The speed of Txtlocal's newly improved MMS platform meant that all clients needed to do was take a photo with their mobile phone and text it into the keyword 'Tea' on MMS short code 88600. Txtlocal vowed to donate GBP20 for every MMS picture text into the short code.

Txtlocal also held an afternoon tea event in their offices in Chester, inviting all neighbour businesses to join in, and hosted a 'Blooming Great Tea Party' themed website for the day.
