NEW YORK, NY, September 19, 2010 (Press-News.org) Can women really dress men? Female designer Juhea Kim answers the question by creating a contemporary line LIBER New York that has been creating a lot of buzz within the fashion industry. Devoted to alternative ideas and culture, she designs unique and fashion forward apparel for the fashion conscience male. The LIBER New York collection consists of versatile jackets, cropped trousers, and modern cotton jersey tees that offer an "out of the box" option in male apparel.
"We bring unpretentious and unironic avant-garde fashion made in America, for American men." shares Juhea Kim. Feeling there was a lack of truly exciting, yet masculine fashion in the US Market, Juhea felt that domestic labels only offered slight variations of the preppie styles. With true progressiveness missing in American men's fashion, Juhea was compelled to design LIBER New York to create imaginative, yet effortless avant-garde clothing. "As a woman, I am more uninhibited to push the envelope. At the same time, I never lose sight of what looks great on a man and what would be attractive to women" says Juhea Kim.
LIBER New York further illustrates "newness" with the introduction of their Fall/Winter collection that features Americana aesthetics in their pants, shirts, cardigans and blazers - flattering fits, patch back pockets, and lightweight dexterity. The Fall feel is especially presented in the CALEB jacket, a wonderful transitional piece, with the lightweight polished cotton that gives the perfect leather-like look.
Look for LIBER New York at the pop up store, Homemade: NYC, at Grand Opening (139 Norfolk St., at Rivington St.) September 24-26, 2010. (12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) or Shop LIBER New York at http://www.libernewyork.com. LIBER New York is also available at Nos Men's Boutique (165 Front St., at Jay St.)
