LONDON, ENGLAND, July 22, 2011 (Press-News.org) Organisers have announced that the 5th annual Poker in the Park will be offering a little extra. The festival which hits London's Hanover Square on 2nd and 3rd September will offer the usual mix of live poker, poker pro lectures, autograph signings and the latest in cut price books and merchandise. However this year's poker festival will be expanding with a Main Stage packed with entertainment, plus a tent devoted to non-poker skill gaming such as Mahjong, Chess and Rummy.
For the first time ever, Poker in the Park introduces the Main Stage. The line-up is yet to be officially announced, but organisers are promising the very best in live music, big-name comedians, magic shows, card ninjas and a chess grand master playing speed chess against multiple opponents. On the Saturday, the Main Stage will also host the 2nd annual British Poker Awards, a star-studded ceremony to honour the cream of UK poker.
Also on offer will be a variety of skill-gaming: Chess, Rummy and Mahjong, with a whole dome devoted to staging the biggest Mahjong tournament in Europe.
Organiser Michael Caselli said, "We're really excited about this year's Poker in the Park. With the Main Stage offering the best in entertainment, it really will have that summer festival feel. With the addition of skill gaming it will also have a more eclectic feel."
