MIDDLESEX, NJ, July 29, 2011 (Press-News.org) Loggia Athletic Center at Grinnell College is Showcased in May/June 2011 Issue
FABLOGICTM by BAMCO, Inc., an award-winning leader in the design and fabrication of composite metal panels, is proud to have one of its projects featured in the May/June 2011 issue of MetalMag. The featured project is the Loggia Athletic Center at Grinnell College in Iowa.
The athletic center was constructed with 32,800 square feet of FABLOGIC C-500 metal composite panels in mica platinum and mist white finish. The construction of this educational facility was particularly challenging due to the complex nature of the curvature and sloped angles. FABLOGIC C-500 panels were selected to not only match an existing structure but also to symbolize the modern, technically advanced facility and equipment that is found both inside and out of the Loggia Athletic Center. To view the article and photos as featured in MetalMag, go to http://mydigimag.rrd.com/publication/?i=72894&p=46 .
According to company co-founder Allan Pasternak, "We are thrilled to have our work at Grinnell College recognized in the May/June issue of MetalMag. This project required careful and state-of-the-art dimensioning. The complex shape of the structure demanded layout accuracy for each and every panel. Because FABLOGIC panels are fabricated using Lean manufacturing principles and BAMCO inc. provides standardized testing, engineering and manufacturing processes, we were able to deliver a superior product to our client."
In addition to the C-500 panel, which is fabricated in a rout-and-return method with a silicone caulk joint, the FABLOGIC product line includes several unique panels. The G-500 uses recessed hard silicone gasket joinery and full-length interconnecting perimeter extrusions. The D-500is a lightweight, low maintenance system that uses rain screen technology and can be fabricated in complex shapes and curves. The latest generation system, the I-500, uses internal gaskets to provide a fully weather-sealed system with the visual aesthetics of an open joint or rain screen system.
