"Pirate's Paradise Adventures" Launches New "Affordable Luxury" Day Boat Charter Company in U.S. and British Virgin Islands

Day Boat Charter Company Fills Much Needed Gap Between Utility Style and High End Luxury Day Boat Charter Services for Virgin Island Tourists

2011-08-12
ST THOMAS, USVI, August 12, 2011 (Press-News.org) Nothing parallels the beauty of the Virgin Islands--sugary sand beaches, palm trees swaying gently in the cool breeze, warm, crystal clear waters, and over 60 islands to explore. Until now, your choice of watercraft to visit these gorgeous islands was extremely limited. Basically, you had two very different modes of transport to choose from - the basic, bare bones center-console "fishing boat" style charter, or a budget-crushing 40+ foot Express Cruiser yacht. That's all changed with the launch of Pirate's Paradise Adventures, a private day boat charter company specializing in affordable, luxury powerboat excursions throughout the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.

Pirate's Paradise Adventures (http://www.piratesparadiseadventures.com) was started by a family who frequently travels to the Virgin Islands with dreams of eventually becoming full time residents. Their primary mode of transportation while in the islands was day boat charters - and this family of six quickly learned there was a big opportunity for a better experience. "We've been to the Virgin Islands many times and spent many days on the water, exploring the islands," said company co-founder Leigh Woeller. "We learned quickly that the center-console fishing style boat left a lot to be desired in the way of comfort or convenience. If the waters were even a little rough or it rained at all...everything--including us--got really wet and it wasn't a fun trip. We looked at renting a more family-friendly boat that would be more comfortable, but they were about $2,500. Like most people, we just couldn't afford that."

Together, the family identified the features their dream charter boat would have and set out on a search for the flagship vessel. Their list of features included 2 in-board/out-board engines to allow for more space at the back of the boat, more power and the security of dual engines. A big priority was a swim step for easier and safer access in and out of the water, a transom shower to hose off the salt water, and heavily padded, upholstered seats for passenger comfort. An open bow layout was important so people had plenty of room and and could see up ahead. Other criteria included a sun pad for tanning, a refrigerator and wet bar, an onboard head, and a great sound system.

They found their perfect boat - a 32' Monterey super sport, and named her "Red Beard."
"There's even chaise lounge seating throughout - it makes a huge difference on the water. Now, we love the journey, too - not just the destinations" says Woeller.

Pirate's Paradise Adventures' flagship vessel is captained by Stan Good, a popular St. Thomas resident and long time USCG licensed captain. Ranked highly by TripAdvisor, "Captain Stan" was the perfect captain for Red Beard because of his love of the islands, desire to provide visitors a great experience and his appreciation for Red Beard's numerous amenities.

You might expect a boat like Red Beard to be on the pricey side, but Red Beard is actually about the same cost as the basic center console fishing boats--but she offers so much more. "We typically paid about $700 a day including the captain's fee for the center console fishing boats," said Woeller of their family's experience with day boat charters in the Virgin Islands. "We've priced Red Beard at just $750 a day, including the islands' best captain. By using a little creativity and thinking beyond what everyone else was doing, we can provide a lot more value for your money. We wanted to give our guests the best day of their lives, and now we have the boat to do it with."

Captain Stan, a USCG & British Boatmaster licensed captain, will be your guide, helping you customize the day's itinerary to your specific wishes. He's also a wealth of information with many stories about the area - some of them may even be true!
