Online-Spread-Betting.com Launches Daily Share Trading News
2011-08-19
LONDON, ENGLAND, August 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) Financial trading website www.Online-Spread-Betting.com has launched a brand new section as part of the ongoing improvements to the site. The new section, updated daily, is called the Spread Betting Shares News, and is intended to aid any investor speculating on stocks and shares from around the world, as well as stock market indices as a whole.

Throughout 2011, Online-Spread-Betting.com has been working hard to improve the site. In January, they completely overhauled the design and house style of the site in order to make it more accessible and easier to navigate.

Later in the year, they introduced a huge range of company reviews for companies like Financial Spreads. They have also added a series of spread betting guides. These guides focused on all areas of the financial spread betting markets, including stock market indices such as the FTSE 100 and the CAC 40, foreign exchange pairs such as GBPUSD and EURJPY, commodities such as Gold and Oil, as well as stocks and shares.

This new section, according to http://www.online-spread-betting.com/ Head Editor Emma Franklin, is one which will help investors who are speculating on shares, regardless of where they are listed.

"We designed this section knowing that many spread bettors who speculate on equities do so across multiple stock markets; they are not just limited to one market. As a result, we felt that the majority of our readers wanted to get information on multiple markets in one place," she said.

"However, we realised that a lot of traders who are spread betting on shares also spread bet on the stock markets which they are listed upon," Franklin continued. "Naturally stocks and stock market indices are interlinked, which is why we decided to make sure that the new Spread Betting Shares News section covered both of them."

The section reviews the biggest moves in the UK shares market, the US shares market and the Asian shares market. It also reviews how stock market indices such as the FTSE 100, the Dow Jones, the Nikkei 225 and the Hang Seng have moved over the previous 24 hours.

However Franklin was keen to stress the fact that Online-Spread-Betting.com has more than one section for spread bettors who are speculating on shares. "Traders spread betting on shares will also find many of our other sections useful."

"We already publish Daily Broker Tips, Market Analysis, Market Data and a Daily Spread Betting Blog. We really are the most comprehensive spread betting site out there, and we intend to keep it that way."

Working together can help battle effects of fatigue

2011-08-19
WASHINGTON — Fatigue can lead to dangerous errors by doctors, pilots and others in high-risk professions, but individuals who work together as a team display better problem-solving skills than those who face their fatigue alone, new research shows. "Teams appear to be more highly motivated to perform well, and team members can compare solutions to reach the best decision when they are fatigued. This appears to allow teams to avoid the inflexible thinking experienced by fatigued individuals," said Daniel Frings, PhD, a senior lecturer in social psychology at London ...

Using powder-free latex gloves reduces latex allergy rate in health care workers

2011-08-19
Researchers at The Medical College of Wisconsin investigating latex allergy in health care workers have demonstrated the most effective public health strategy to prevent allergic sensitization is by stopping the use of powdered latex gloves. Previous medical studies pointed out this association of latex allergy to powdered latex glove use but were not able to completely confirm this link in specific workers. Reducing the use of powdered gloves reduced the allergen in the air and in air ducts at two hospitals, and prevented sensitization to latex in health care workers ...

Stock markets can regulate themselves

2011-08-19
This release is available in German. Whenever crisis threatens the financial markets, voices are loud in calling for greater control. It is dubious, however, whether tighter regulation would actually offer investors better protection against losing their capital. "Economic history shows us that strictly regulated stock markets do not necessarily function better than those that are given a free hand," says historian and economist Carsten Burhop of the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn. Based on selected sample cases, he and two British colleagues, ...

Competitive Scrabble makes you smarter

2011-08-19
Since competitive Scrabble players are expert at studying language, University of Calgary researchers sought to determine if and how players' techniques and training changed the process of reading words. They tested competitive Scrabble players to understand the extent to which the players relied on the meaning and physical orientation of words in order to understand them as a part of the English language system. Their study shows, for the first time, that it is possible to develop visual word recognition ability in adulthood, beyond what researchers previously thought ...
