BLIS uses sensors to detect when vehicles are in a driver's blind spot, and notifies the driver through a warning light on the corresponding sideview mirror. These same sensors will detect impending traffic and warn the driver when slowly backing up.

Adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support is available on the 2012 Lincoln MKT EcoBoost. BLIS with cross-traffic alert is optional on the 2012 Lincoln MKZ and 2012 Lincoln MKT EcoBoost, all of which are currently on sale at Sanderson Lincoln.
