PCH Treatment Now Offers Intensive Treatment Program

Mental health is a frightening area for many people. It involves structures and systems few people understand.

2011-09-01
LOS ANGELES, CA, September 01, 2011 (Press-News.org) Mental health is a frightening area for many people. It involves structures and systems few people understand. There is also the stigma associated with it. It can sometimes seem like loved ones will never find the help and the guidance to function fully.

Now there is a facility which can provide a solution to you or your loved one's psychological issues. This new course of treatment is provided by the health care professionals at Psychological Care & Healing (PCH) Treatment Center. Based on the groundbreaking work of Dr. Jeff Ball, PCH now offers a program which totally immerses the patient in a therapeutic environment and addresses their primary and secondary psychological issues. Dr. Ball and the staff at PCH draw on over 25 years of research and experience treating individuals with a variety of psychological challenges.

Their success with patients from the very young to the elderly suffering from autism, schizophrenia, schizoaffective, bipolar and other serious psychological disorders has given them a unique prospective. They know what it takes to bring relief and healing to people suffering from mental illness and personality disorders. Patients don't respond well to sessions once or twice a week. Nor are they properly served by being placed among heavily sedated patients in a mental institution. The Psychological Care & Healing Treatment Center provides a warm nurturing environment where patients can receive loving, professional care and support.

Drugs are not the solution to all psychological problems. At PCH the focus is on treatment. The staff uses a psychotherapeutic approach to care and healing. Patients receive psychiatric consultations and are treated using intensive individual and group psychotherapies along with the latest and most effective treatments. Medication is used to help clarify the underlying issue causing the individual difficulty. But drugs are not the focus. The facility is designed to provide holistic approaches to mental illness.

PCH has a depression treatment center, an anxiety treatment center, a bipolar treatment center and a personality disorder treatment clinic. Each patient is treated through an individually designed treatment program created to address their specific needs. PCH's state of the art facility provides a unique therapeutic experience in a home-like setting in an upscale residential community on Los Angeles' Westside. PCH offers their services in a warm and safe therapeutic environment.

The program is designed for people transitioning from other programs and people who need intensive day or evening programs close to their homes. Superior care and effective healing practices make the program unique. Dr. Ball and the staff has used their experience working with the Veterans Administration Hospital, at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and other local residential psychological facilities to create an atmosphere where real healing is possible.

Johns Hopkins scientists reveal new survival mechanism for neurons

The discovery, reported August 5 in the journal Cell, reveals that the activated protein Rac, a key component ...
