TUCSON, AZ, September 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) Manufacturing in Mexico has become the leading low-cost option available to companies seeking to nearshore facilities that have, until now, executed their production in distant Asian factories. Due to rising labor costs, reduced export tax credits, and ever higher costs of carrying inventory and executing transportation, an increasing number of firms are investigating the possibility of gaining economic advantage by moving operations in greater proximity to their home markets.

Manufacturing executives will be able to tour operating Mexico maquiladora operations at The Offshore Group's 17th Annual Manufacturing in Mexico Summit. The event will take place at the San Carlos Plaza Hotel in San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico from October 20 - 22, 2011. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with and to speak directly to suppliers to aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical device, HVAC and general manufacturing firms that are currently in Mexico production.

In addition to visiting Mexico manufacturing facilities, executive attendees will have to opportunity to meet and listen to expert speakers in the disciplines of Mexico production, customs and logistics and human resources. Each company will also sit with a Mexico manufacturing plant costing expert for the purpose of running accurate projections of costs related to contemplated Mexico manufacturing projects.
