Update Your Hair While You Safeguard Your Health at My Trendy Place with Upcoming On-Site Breast Cancer Screenings

Are you a woman 35 or older? Have you ever had a mammogram? Houston Lace Front Wig boutique/My Trendy Place is providing the setting for a mammogram screening event sponsored by the top Houston breast cancer group The Rose.

2011-09-13
HOUSTON, TX, September 13, 2011 (Press-News.org) My Trendy Place boutique and The Rose breast cancer organization will be teaming up to provide breast cancer screenings on Tuesday, September 20. Screenings will take place at My Trendy Place's Houston location, thanks to the mobile mammography vans sponsored by The Rose.

Hair loss can be traumatic for women experiencing health problems such as alopecia, lupus and cancer. Cancer treatments in particular are very hard on the hair. Chemotherapy targets all fast growing cells when attacking cancer cells. Since hair grows so fast, its follicles ultimately become a target and chemotherapy does its job, the hair follicles die out and hair loss is the result. This can be devastating to anyone.

My Trendy Place offers many solutions for women who suffer from hair loss. Hair extensions, hair weaving and full lace wigs help women feel like themselves again. As the hair grows back in, natural hair care services such as relaxers, color, cutting and styling can improve its appearance. All women, in fact, can use these services to makeover and refresh their style.

Owner of My Trendy Place, Lisa Amosu, explains how she got started helping women. "I have been around so many women that have experienced hair loss due to traction alopecia or other forms of hair loss. I saw there were few options in Houston. I decided to take a chance and started My Trendy Place. I love what I'm able to do for the self-esteem of others."

At My Trendy Place, a professional meets with each person for a consultation before suggesting a beauty plan. Staff members take the time to determine whether a full Houston Lace Front Wig, hair extensions or some other hair procedure would be best.

My Trendy Place deals in the highest quality Indian Remy and Human Hair Wigs. Staff members demonstrate the best way clients can apply the wigs to protect the hairline and to promote healthy hair growth.

The Rose's mobile mammography screening will be held from 9am through 3pm on September 20 for all eligible women. Refreshments and Lite Bites will be served. The breast cancer screenings promise to help many women in the Houston area. With a stop inside the My Trendy Place boutique, women can make what some may consider a less then pleasant outing, a day of fun and fashion while attending to their health and wellbeing.

My Trendy Place is an upscale Beauty and Wellness Boutique in Houston, Texas, specializing in Lace Front Wigs and other fine hair products and services. Boutique owner Lisa Amosu heads a team of experienced and creative professional stylists. My Trendy Place was recently featured in The New York Times, Essence Magazine and on Good Morning America. The Boutique caters to a diverse clientele with wigs and other hair treatments, as well as clothing, jewelry and handbags. Amosu has been associated with several charitable organizations including The National Alopecia Foundation, The Breast Health Collaborative and The Susan G. Koman Foundation.

A New Home is Still Within Reach

2011-09-13
Home sales in Charlotte have been dropping sharply since January, accelerating a slump that began in 2006. Interestingly though, as sales have been dropping, prices have been rising. The average price of a home is up 15.3 percent since last year, and the cost per square foot for housing in Charlotte has risen a full 29 percent. Residents of Charlotte clearly are finding it less and less affordable to move into a new home, and are paying higher costs for less space.
