LONDON, ENGLAND, September 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) After many weeks of preparation and anticipation, last weekend saw the 'Duckies Awards' hosted from the new Elstree offices of award winning digital agency Cyber-Duck. The night was a resounding success which was attended by over 80 business, design and technology entrepreneurs and enthusiasts from around the UK, who all came together to celebrate the 'Duckies Awards' and praise the design graduates who were deemed worthy of a prestigious 'Duckies Award'.
The event started at 5pm and all guests were greeted with a warm welcome, a drink and some live music from DJ Steve Taylor to kick off the proceedings. Before long world class magician Nick Einhorn had entered the building, and he left every single guest gobsmacked with some mind boggling tricks which seemed to defy the laws of physics.
Throughout the evening guests were treated to demonstrations of the winning projects. Projects on show included Acoustic Poetry from Michail Vanis, the Culturebook smartphone application from Calum Ryan, Will You Help Us? An interactive iPad picturebook from Alex Chapman, Fear on the Internet a digital spray can from Saturo Kusakabe and Colour Chameleon an interactive puzzle game available on the Apple App Store from Tom Picken and Pete Hall.
Cyber-Duck setup a unique eye tracking session called 'Where's Duckie?' to demonstrate their in-house eye tracking services. The X-Box Kinect on the lower floor was in constant use throughout the entire evening, as well as further demonstrations from graduates. These projects included Tweeting Seat from Chris McNicholl and Kinect Robot from Darren Lewis.
All the graduates where presented with their prestigious framed Duckies Awards and the ceremony gave all the graduates the opportunity to further explain their projects to all who were in attendance.
Cyber-Duck's Managing Director Danny Bluestone was thrilled with the event, stating "There was a great deal of hard work and effort which went in to preparing our new offices for the first ever 'Duckies Awards' and we are really pleased with the outcome. Everyone who attended said how much they enjoyed the evening, and we are proud to provide a platform for these young design graduates to showcase their projects".
