San Diego-Based Health Specialties Manufacturing Completes Acquisition of KEMS Nutraceuticals International, Inc.

VISTA, CA, September 22, 2010 (Press-News.org) Health Specialties Manufacturing, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Health Trax, Inc., has acquired the assets of Vista, Calif.-based KEMS Nutraceuticals International, Inc. (KEMS). The transaction will allow Health Specialties Manufacturing (HSM) to expand its output capabilities by adding an additional liquid production line and broadening its customer base with the addition of KEMS' manufacturing contracts for international distribution channels.

As a result of the acquisition, Ernesto Mejia, one of the industry's top Production Managers with more than 25 years of senior-level experience in the biotechnology, food supplement, medical devices and manufacturing industries, will transition from KEMS to the HSM team as the Senior Production Manager. KEMS operations, in their entirety, will also transition to HSM's facilities located at 2465 Ash Street in Vista, Calif.

"The addition of the assets and resources obtained in the acquisition of KEMS will allow us to provide improved and expanded service capability to our current and growing contract manufacturing customer base," said Shanna Denfeld, Vice-President of Operations for HSM. "Bringing Ernesto on board as our Senior Production Manager will provide our company with additional expertise to maintain and surpass the high levels of quality and service that we have always demanded, which will also contribute towards the strengthening of our Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)."

Financial details of the transaction are not being disclosed.
