The Palace Brings New Senior Living to South Florida

The Palace Group, one of South Florida's leading companies specializing in senior housing and care, recently opened the Information Center for The Palace at Coral Gables, a luxury senior community that will be located in the heart of 'City Beautiful'

2011-09-16
CORAL GABLES, FL, September 16, 2011 (Press-News.org) With the opening of Information Center for The Palace at Coral Gables, 16 Miracle Mile, a new opportunity becomes available for seniors...living in luxury rental residences in an extraordinary setting of elegance and a unique urban location.

The Palace at Coral Gables is the first new luxury residential senior community of its kind to be developed in Miami-Dade County.

It represents an achievement of the City of Coral Gables to bring senior housing to the "City Beautiful" through a public-private venture with The Palace Group, the award-winning senior housing developer, owner and operator of senior communities in South Florida and Israel.

Planned as a nine-story Mediterranean Palazzo-styled tower, the community will be located at 45 Andalusia Avenue—the heart of the city—and include 243 studio, one- and two-bedroom residences for luxurious senior living. The community will serve approximately 275 residents and employ a staff of over 100.

"Partnering with the City of Coral Gables is a significant opportunity for company," said Palace Group President Jacob Shaham. "Our missions are complimentary. We anticipate an increase of a 65-and over population and recognize the demand by seniors to remain in the city where they have lived and raised their families."

In addition to the residential building, a state-of-the-art parking pavilion will be built completed directly across from The Palace, offering convenient parking for residents and staff as well as public usage.

The trademark of The Palace Group is the company's expertise in the delivery of extraordinary care and services and its emphasis on unsurpassed elegance and ambiance. Since 1980, The Palace has been known for providing extensive staff training to assure exemplary standards in care and customer service.

The Fullerton Group, well known for many of the notable buildings within Coral Gables, has been selected for architectural design of The Palace at Coral Gables. Drawing on the elements of the Mediterranean influences which are seen throughout the city, the firm is creating an old-world look utilizing 21st century materials.

"The Palace at Coral Gables' design will maintain the architectural aesthetics synonymous with Coral Gables," said City Architect Carlos Mindreau. "This will have a positive impact on its location as well as the entire street."

The interior design inspiration for The Palace Coral Gables is drawn from public areas of the legendary Four Seasons' Hotel George V in Paris. Jeff Howard, of Howard De Armas Group, has been selected as the community's interior designer. Howard, known for his work in resort-hotels throughout the world, also created the award-winning interiors for The Palace Group's communities in Weston, Fla., and Tel Aviv.

The community's amenities will include features associated with five-star hotel-resorts such as a gourmet restaurant, cafe and bar, library, business center, and card, game and arts and craft rooms.

Fitness and spa amenities include a state-of-the-art fitness center, a large aerobics studio for exercise classes, beauty salon and a wellness center with on-site doctor and nursing offices.

A magnificent indoor swimming pool is planned for the building's first floor. Integration of the outdoors will be through covered, outdoor terraces and a plaza on the second floor.

The Palace at Coral Gables will offer pedestrian walkways and connectors to the vibrant Miracle Mile destination area.

"Opportunities for urban senior living are unmet in many downtowns," added Mindreau. "The city recognizes that The Palace will inject a new perspective into the life pulse of Coral Gables. This will create a positive mix of people...seniors combined with young, married couples, singles and families who are all part of the urban fabric."

The comprehensive service component for the community are included as part of a monthly rental fee. Dining services, entertainment, transportation, housekeeping, 24-hour security and utilities (except telephone) are part of the all inclusive residential package.

Residences will be appointed with luxurious features and include fully-equipped kitchens, custom-built closet storage systems, spacious bathrooms, washer/dryers and window treatments.

The Information Center, located at 16 Miracle Mile, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and offers prospective residents an opportunity to preview community plans and make reservations on their residence of choice.

The Palace's continuum of care also includes The Palace Suites, a luxurious independent living community; The Palace Royale, a "catered living" community; The Palace Renaissance, an assisted living community; The Palace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; The Palace Gardens, an assisted living community in Homestead; The Palace at Weston, luxury living for those 55 and over; and Palace Tel-Aviv, a continuing care retirement community in Israel.
