SAN DIEGO, CA, October 05, 2011 (Press-News.org) San Diego Self Storage announced their host sponsorship of the 18th Annual International Relief Teams (IRT) "Gifts of Hope Gala" that will be held on October 22, 2011, at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina from 6:00 to 11:00 pm. Proceeds will benefit a special appeal during the gala earmarked, "Medicines for Children" a special fund that provides medicine for underprivileged children in developing countries. Additional proceeds will be directed toward fulfilling the mission of IRT that includes providing shelter for the homeless, medical training that saves babies' lives and transforming the well-being of those less fortunate through surgical procedures for thousands of families worldwide.

According to San Diego Self Storage Managing Member, Tony Carr, "IRT helps fill the gap for those who are victims of disaster, poverty and neglect. San Diego Self Storage is at the forefront of disaster relief in California by donating storage space to victims of wildfires and other natural disasters and our sponsorship of this event helps us expand our philanthropic reach into global territories. I have personally immersed myself in hands-on relief efforts spearheaded by IRT, which includes rebuilding homes for underprivileged families during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and have witnessed their professional mobilized response coordination.
