LOS ANGELES, CA, October 19, 2011 (Press-News.org) FirstRun.tv online television network (www.Firstrun.tv) expands its "Online Primetime TV" lineup to feature award-winning superhero series, "Heroes of the North" on October 17, 2011. The live-action series, created by Christian Viel and Aderson Bradshaw of Canadian production company, Movie Seals Digital, consists of twenty episodes produced in both English and French to appeal to international viewers.
"Heroes of the North" follows a group of Canadian superheroes as they fight deadly foes including the infamous MEDUSA, a worldwide terrorist organization run by former Nazi scientist. The twenty-episode action-packed television series is accompanied by several innovative transmedia products including a novella, a video game (to be released in February, 2012), fifteen digital comic books, character tech sheets, a photo diary, and three related websites. While the television series, novella, video game, and comic books each tell the full "Heroes of the North" story, when combined, the audience experience is enhanced.
"The idea was to put together a show that deals with heroes within a modern Canadian reality, showing that there is more to Canada than Mounties, moose hunting and igloos," says Christian Viel, President of Movie Seals Digital. "We created a Canadian show that is highly entertaining, funny, sexy and loaded with action -- something that is not traditionally associated with Canada," Viel added. Although working with a limited production budget, Movie Seals Digital was able to complete the series featuring an ensemble cast of superheroes, super villains, big effects, thrilling themes, and elaborate costumes. "We hope international audiences will enjoy the show as much as we had fun making it. This is truly a show made by fans for fans and online audiences everywhere will now have a new outlet to discover or re-discover the award-winning series as 'Heroes of the North' partners with the high-quality line-up of FirstRun.tv," Viel concluded.
