Next Mediaworks Launches 'IndiaONE' A Premium Digital Offering For Apple ipad And iphone

Next Mediaworks Ltd has launched IndiaONE - The sounds of India for the digital space. The Application streams out a distinct genre of Indian film music and non film music like Ghazals, Religious, folk, Indipop, lounge.

2011-11-24
NEW DELHI, INDIA, November 24, 2011 (Press-News.org) Next Mediaworks Ltd has launched 3 products for the digital space. Next Mediaworks' subsidiary Radio One Ltd, runs radio stations in 7 cities in India under the brand name 94.3 Radio One and this is a joint venture with BBC worldwide.

The premium application is called "IndiaONE - The sounds of India" and is a sound garden of a multitude of Indian sounds specially designed for the ipad and iphone.

The application streams out audio in high quality and consists of distinct channels that include Indian film music, a huge collection of various genres of Non film music like Ghazals, Religious, folk, Indipop, lounge, News in 3 languages, Live stream radio in Hindi and Tamil, a Mood player that shuffles music for you and a 1000 song karaoke channel (only on ipad version) that includes tracks from the 70s to the latest film songs. As a special launch feature the app also includes unplugged sessions of the best Indian musicians who have played exclusively at the Radio One studios and Bollywood stars who have presented their favourite songs in their own voices as played out in the Radio One stations across the country.

The 'KaraokeONE" feature of IndiaONE is also available separately for ipad and iphone and is one of the very few authorized karaoke offerings of Bollywood music in India. One can sing out the latest 1000 Bollywood songs with synchronized lyrics and high quality back up music and support vocals. Save yourself from painful downloads as you can stream these out anytime anywhere. Just connect your iphone / ipad to a sound system and hook up your microphone and sing along with the best music created in India. Songs will be updated every 30-45 days at no extra cost for the period of subscription. Songs range from special classics to occasion and party favourites to the latest releases from Bollywood. KaraokeONE is great for festivals, parties at home and for anyone aspiring to train themselves to be a professional singer. It is a fabulous gift to send to your family and friends.

Research done by the company showed that most 'free Indian music' apps are not licensed and were very limited in their offering only to film music. Most people who have downloaded such apps hardly use them or have got bored of them as they don't allow interaction of any sort. A lot of these apps have now been discontinued by the Apple store. This helped the company sense an opportunity in the 'paid app' area but with a product that offers such a huge multitude of audio infotainment both interactive and non interactive, The ipad FULL edition of IndiaONE (which includes karaoke also) costs US $1.99 . The iphone edition (without karaoke) costs US$0.99 and only KARAOKE-ONE for both ipad and iphone costs US $0.99. The launch price is a 'special launch offer' likely to go up post the holiday season so it is a great gift for friends and family too.

The company feels there is space for a 'premium apps' in quality seeking customers who have bought an ipad and iphone and really don't care much about 'free junk music apps' that can't sustain themselves anymore.

The user interface design of the app took into account insights gathered from ipad and iphone users. The first being a common complaint of ipad users that most apps were actually iphone apps or website variants 'tweaked to fit a larger ipad screen' that makes all the visuals and buttons pixelated. IndiaONE's ipad edition uses the large screen of the ipad with very clear functionality and a design feel that exhibits a very premium Indian look. Each button or service on the IndiaONE app leads the user to a full screen dedicated only to that service so as to maintain ease of use and zero clutter. The iphone design of the APP ensures single thumb operation across the whole app, again a problem that seems to plague many Indian music apps that clutter a small screen with too many things. The KaraokeONE app is the easiest interface to use with easy access to song + lyric files.

IndiaONE is the perfect audio entertainment companion for global Indians who care about quality at the right price.
