Pickens is a veteran entrepreneurial executive with more than 35 years of management experience. He will lead the Morrisville, North Carolina-based company as it expands its outreach into new vertical markets in need of network and data security consulting, assessment and remediation services throughout the Southeast.

Pickens joins Secure Enterprise Computing after serving as director of entrepreneurship for CED for the past year. He has a coveted history of advancing technology in the region and throughout the state, bringing the first computer games company to RTP as co-founder of Interactive Magic before taking it public in 1998. He has since served as CEO/president of CDV Software Entertainment USA, was CFO of Virtual Heroes, Inc., where he helped orchestrate its 2009 sale to Applied Research Associates, and served as CFO and COO of Raleigh-based First Research, Inc, which was sold to Dun and Bradstreet in 2007. Pickens has helped raise more than $100 million in capital throughout his career.
