KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, December 27, 2011 (Press-News.org) Kuala Lumpur audiences will be able to catch a performance by the popular LA alt-rock trio Foster The People on January 13th 2012.

The musicians will be performing at the KL Convention Centre as part of a global tour that will see them travelling to east Asian destinations including Jakarta, Singapore, Osaka and Tokyo before heading to other parts of the world.

Composed of Mark Foster, Cubbie Fink and Mark Pontius, the three-piece act exploded on to the music scene last year when their record Pumped Up Kicks became an internet sensation, which quickly translated into mainstream success.

People wishing to see Foster The People's Kuala Lumpur debut will need to act fast, as regular tickets have already sold out.

However, Party Zone passes are still available for 138 ringgits (GBP27.90), while FANatic Zone tickets can be bought for 188 ringgits.

Penn scientists pioneer new method for watching proteins fold

2011-12-27
PHILADELPHIA — A protein's function depends on both the chains of molecules it is made of and the way those chains are folded. And while figuring out the former is relatively easy, the latter represents a huge challenge with serious implications because many diseases are the result of misfolded proteins. Now, a team of chemists at the University of Pennsylvania has devised a way to watch proteins fold in "real-time," which could lead to a better understanding of protein folding and misfolding in general. The research was conducted by Feng Gai, professor in the Department ...

Penn engineers develop more effective MRI contrast agent for cancer detection

The research was ...

It is estimated that at least 40% of the sporadic patients affected by this disease are carriers of APOEε4, but this also means that much more still remains to be studied. The researcher at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) Xabier ...
