CHARLESTON, SC, December 29, 2011 (Press-News.org) Attorney Evan Guthrie of the Evan Guthrie Law Firm in Charleston, South Carolina participated in a Back Pack Drive for Sanders Clyde Elementary in Charleston SC on Friday August 12th 2011. The Back Pack Drive was sponsored by the Young Lawyers Division of The South Carolina Bar. The purpose of the Back Pack Drive is to provide students of Sanders Clyde Elementary in Charleston SC with back packs and school supplies for the upcoming school year.
Many students are without school supplies and this event gives them the supplies that are needed to learn and study throughout the year such as notebooks, folders ,paper, pens, pencils, crayons, rulers, and highlighters. Attorney Evan Guthrie and other lawyers from the Young Lawyers Division were able to collect and sort donations from attorneys and law firms throughout the Charleston area. All of these donations of school supplies were put into individual packages for students and delivered to Sanders Clyde Elementary to be distributed to the students.
The administrators of Sanders Clyde Elementary received the school supplies and were thankful and said that the students look forward to getting the donated supplies every year. Extra supplies were distributed to teachers for use in their classrooms. Attorney Guthrie was glad to be able to help with the Back Pack Drive and help the local community schools and looked forward to being able to participate in the annual event next year.
