WASHINGTON, DC, December 29, 2011 (Press-News.org) Online medical coding certification exam preparation provider, Online Career Advancement, announced today at a health care conference that it is launching a new program, Certified Coder Academy, designed to ease the cost of entry into the medical coding field.
"While serving students seeking professional medical coding certifications from around the world, we have noticed that most cannot afford the tuition cost associated with such programs. The Certified Coder Academy is designed to provide a comprehensive yet affordable option for those who lack experience but want to pursue careers as medical coders," said Professor Leonard Cox, CEO of Online Career Advancement.
Online Career Advancement has successfully assisted numerous students with attaining medical coding certifications from AHIMA and AAPC. The new program, Certified Coder Academy, will add several free medical coding tutorials and interactive learning videos that will make it easier for students to successfully pass, in particular, the AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam.
"There is a shortage of, and strong demand for, certified medical coders that is expected to increase substantially over the next several years. We believe that part of the problem is the high cost of medical coding education and training," adds Mark Robinson, Program Administrator for Online Career Advancement.
The Certified Coder Academy will also provide numerous resources and references, free courses, and a mentor service to facilitate an affordable option for those who lack financial means. The Certified Coder Academy is scheduled to open courses during the spring of 2012. Useful information about the AHIMA Certified Coding Associate exam and free tutorials will be available prior to full program launch at certifiedcoderacademy.com.
Online Career Advancement is a global program combining self-based training and activities with technical and student support services. All programs are offered in private and secure course management systems used by top colleges and universities around the world.
Since its original launch in 2007, Online Career Advancement has partnered with more than 300 affiliate partners worldwide. The Certified Coder Academy program curriculum is directly aligned with the guidelines and standards of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam requirements.
