SAN FRANCISCO, CA, September 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) In a rapid response to Microsoft's recently announced discovery of a security vulnerability in all versions of ASP.NET, Tracker Corp developers immediately investigated the issue, devised a solution and applied it to all customers of Tracker products.
According to the Microsoft security advisory issued on Friday, September 17, "An attacker who exploited this vulnerability could view data...or read data from files on the target server.... This would allow the attacker to tamper with the contents of the data...[and] observe the error codes returned by the server."
Rather than wait for a fix from Microsoft, Tracker went into action and architected a workaround before Monday morning. Tracker then sent notification to its Enterprise clients and immediately applied the fix to the Tracker's Hosted clients. Additionally, Tracker has built a portal installer containing the fix, to seal this vulnerability in the future.
By the time the leading open source web content management system and application development framework for Microsoft.net had advised its customers of the workaround, Tracker engineers had already implemented the solution. "Our team was exceptionally diligent, and our response was hours ahead of the Microsoft.net response, remarked David Ziegler, Tracker Corp's Vice President of Technology. "It doesn't surprise me that Tracker's team built the correct and faster response to this vulnerability, since Tracker's team is built of the sharpest developers dedicated to protecting our clients' data privacy."
Tracker Corp provides software for immigration management, I-9 compliance and E-Verify. Used by approximately 75% of top-rated immigration law firms and many Fortune 1000 companies, hospitals and universities, Tracker Corp products include ImmigrationTracker immigration management software and Tracker I-9 compliance software. Founded in 1998, Tracker Corp is privately held and based in San Francisco, CA. For more information, visit TrackerCorp.com.
