Peter Buffett Resumes His 'Exclusive Song of the Month' Campaign on Ning

Emmy-award winning composer, New York Times best-selling author and philanthropist re-launches a series of singles exclusive to his Ning community.

2012-01-05
NEW YORK, NY, January 05, 2012 (Press-News.org) Today, after a year-long hiatus, Emmy-award winning composer, New York Times best-selling author and philanthropist, Peter Buffett, is re-launching his 'Exclusive Song of the Month' series with the song "Open Hearted Hand".

Started in 2009 with the launch of his Ning community, the 'Exclusive Song of the Month' campaign consists of a single released the first week of every month exclusively to members of his Ning community. The single is then available to the public the following month on digital platforms such as iTunes, Amazon, Napster, etc.

"Open Hearted Hand," featuring the backing vocals of NY-based singer/songwriter Ambar Rubarth and sound bites from Occupy Oakland by Danny Glover, stresses the fact that we shouldn't believe in everything we are told - be it from history books, parents or society. Our inner workings give each of us the ability to craft our own beliefs. Peter said it best:

"What do you know and why do you know it? We know with our hearts. We know with our gut. Our body tells us what we know. Our mind processes and decides based on old information. It's time to not be afraid. To listen again. And know that anything - everything - is possible. It's time to create the story we want to live in to. And become that story ourselves."

Buffett's Ning social network community provides a free and easily navigated platform where members can receive exclusive material including videos, music and more. Similar to Facebook or MySpace, the Ning community allows members to interact with each other and add elements to their profiles, while receiving special content and alerts straight from Buffett. Unlike Facebook or MySpace, members have the chance to interact directly with Buffett via a monthly live chat, "Talk Back Tuesdays" on the first Tuesday of each month. Members can join by simply visiting the Ning community at http://peterbuffett.ning.com and clicking "Sign-Up" in the top right-hand corner.
