HEYBRIDGE, ENGLAND, September 24, 2010 (Press-News.org) Two Maldon-based churches have combined resources to bring the world-famous Alpha Course to local residents starting on the 29th September. Open to anyone, the Alpha Course discusses Christianity and offers everyone the opportunity to explore the meaning of life in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Said Ted Mint, Senior Pastor of Christian Outreach Centre Heybridge, 'We have run the Alpha Course a number of times in the past to great acclaim from those attending. Previous guests have told us how the course has been very useful in terms of answering some of life's biggest questions and has allowed them to form new friendships both inside and outside of church. This opportunity to work with Pastor Rob Sefton from the Elim Church is an excellent opportunity to further improve and open the course to even more people in Maldon and Heybridge.'
Each evening of the Alpha Course features a meal, a short talk and then an open group discussion where guests share their thoughts and feelings on what they have heard. The Course is free to attend and every viewpoint is welcome.
The first part of the course starts at 7.00pm on Wednesday 29th September at the Christian Outreach Centre church building in Heybridge. Leaflets containing booking forms are currently being circulated to houses in the Maldon and Heybridge areas and further details are available from the COC Heybridge website at http://www.cocheybridge.co.uk
Christian Outreach Centre, located on Broad Street Green in Heybridge, has been a place of Christian worship for over 100 years. COC Heybridge is part of the global Christian Outreach Centre movement of over 3000 churches with the shared vision of one people meeting in many places.
