CARLSBAD, CA, January 11, 2012 (Press-News.org) According to Managing Director Andrew McKenzie, the high level of expertise Controlled Irrigation's staff bring to each project gives the company a distinct competitive advantage.
"We have in the region of about 20 certified Landscape Irrigation Association members," he says. "We also have nine designers across the country who bring their expertise to the contractors, make it the cheapest project possible, and oversee the whole job for the end user at no charge."
When it comes to people management "success in this business is by education; your people are your strength," notes McKenzie. Controlled Irrigation believes in training its staff to use the latest products and recognise the latest trends in order to pass this knowledge on to the end user and contractor. Every year a percentage of its turnover goes into staff training and ensuring employee well-being.
The company also recently held an awards ceremony which recognised 42 members of staff who had been with the business for over 15 years. "We make sure the environment is good for employees, make sure they are well paid and look after any personal issues they may have. They form part of a team and this team spirit motivates everyone to go out and be number one in the market," cites McKenzie.
